Our staff members interviewed the Art Club students and asked what they do in their club.

Art Club is a place where you can go and just let your creative juices flow. In this club, the students paint murals in the hallways and they decorate the ceiling tiles. Their job is to add color to our school. This is a place where students can express their creativity through art. Hannah Fludovich, a member of the Art Club said, "Many students like this club because they can come up with their own ideas without a teacher." Many teenagers want to feel independent, so Art Club is a perfect place to let students have some freedom.

You can find some of their projects in between the 6th and 8th grade hallways and the art hallway. The mural in between the 6th and 8th grade hallway is a beautiful work of art. The people in the picture represent the diversity of the students at Swatara Middle School. The group of kids on the mural show that Swatara is a welcoming community. The mural was painted to show that everyone is equal. The words on the picture are song lyrics from a popular Whitney Houston song. "We believe that children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way." These lyrics show that kids are important, and that their ideas are just as important as an adult's. Art Club students are making Swatara's halls colorful, and the atmosphere is joyful because of them!
