One of Swatara's 8th graders submitted this poem to our Newspaper Staff, and we absolutely loved it! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

"Snap, stomp, snarl.

Do you hear it? It's coming closer.

Snap, stomp, snarl.

With each stagger it takes it's one step closer to you.

Snap, stomp, snarl.

It hungers for flesh. Flesh it hasn’t tasted in a long time.

Snap stomp, snarl.

It quickens it's pace. It knows where you are.

Snap stomp.

It's coming, faster now.

Snap stomp.

You try to run but it hunts unlike any animal. It is loud because it knows you can hear, but can't out run.

Snap stomp.

Needs to feed. Needs to feed!

Snarl.

A new hunt starts, who will be it's next prey?

You have no control, all you can do is hope it's

not you.

Snap.

If you hear a something large tromping through

the woods you think it impossible

for it to move quickly.

Stomp, snap.

You are wrong.

Stomp, snap, snarl.

It smells you.

Ssssnarl.

When it is hungry and smells it's prey,

you can do nothing but run.

Snarl, stomp, snap.

As soon as you hear it you need to run.

Stomp snap.

Before it quickens.

Stomp snap.

You are too late. It has found you.

Sssssssnarl.

The last thing you will see is it's big

red, glowing eyes…

Sssslurp!

Before it feeds."
